MYSORE METHOD

Mysore style class is the traditional method for learning Ashtanga Yoga, as taught at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. This method is for students of all levels and the best place to start as a beginner to Yoga or Ashtanga Yoga.

You will receive individual attention from the teacher in a small group setting and learn the set sequence of Ashtanga Yoga postures one-by-one gradually over time, at a pace that is tailored for you, your level of flexibility, and strength.

The teacher is in the room providing one-to-one instruction, modifications if necessary, and adjustments to each student individually. Students will be at different stages in their practice and do not practice in unison like in a led class.

Mysore is an open practice time, meaning you may come and start your practice anytime between the posted hours. Just leave enough time to finish your practice (including rest) before closing time. New students can expect to practice for approx. 30 minutes on your first day, with sessions increasing in time as you progress.
